We are delighted that Tabac Rouge by James Thierrée has been nominated for an Olivier Award in the Best New Dance Production category.
Tabac Rouge was co-presented by Crying Out Loud at Sadler’s Wells in March 2014. The Times described it as ‘a beautiful beast of a show.’ The winners will be announced at a ceremony at the Royal Opera House 12 April.
Crying Out Loud has long been associated with James Thierrée and Compagnie du Hanneton helping to build his reputation on the international circuit before his work gained awareness in France. We introduced James to the UK in 2000 when we presented Junebug Symphony at London’s Queen Elizabeth Hall. Subsequently, Crying Out Loud has played a significant role in presenting and co-commissioning his work in collaboration with Sadler’s Wells and the Barbican in London as well as internationally.
We are delighted that Tabac Rouge has been nominated for an Olivier Award in the Best New Dance Production category.
