CircusNext (formerly Jeunes Talents Cirque Europe) is a biennial search for the brightest and most promising young artists in European contemporary circus. At stake for the ten projects that make the final round is a significant grant, artistic mentoring, technical and administrative advice, and a number of organised residencies.
Pipped at the Pos t was a scheme organised by Crying Out Loud to provide ongoing, tailored support to the UK shortlisted companies who didn’t make the final CircusNext selection. In 2010 Acrojou Circus Theatre, Gisele Edwards, Genius Sweatshop, Alana Jones, Kadja Maarit Karjalaine, Layla Rosa, So & So Circus Theatre and Liat Rosenthal all benefited from CircusNext support ranging from working with mentors and coaches to improve techniques, to one to one sessions with directors and small production grants.
