We offer tailored development opportunities for artists and creative companies in the Solent and South West.

Our programmes include open-access workshops for skill-building and networking, alongside bespoke opportunities designed to match individual artists with the right resources and expertise to achieve their creative goals.

Creative 1:1 sessions, led by our Programme Producer, Lucy Babb, or Artistic Director, Rachel Clare, provide personalised guidance on creative or career challenges. These free sessions are open to artists, companies and organisations based in or regularly working in the Solent area (Portsmouth, Gosport, Isle of Wight, Havant, and New Forest) with an interest in visual theatre. They offer:

  • Up-to-date sector insights
  • Signposting to useful resources
  • Idea development and planning support
  • Assistance with overcoming creative blocks
  • Information about Crying Out Loud’s work in the Solent, UK, and internationally

Through inspiration trips locally, regionally and beyond to shows, festivals and industry events we help artists connect with the broader creative community. These connections inspire new ideas, foster collaboration, and help local talent gain recognition outside the region.

Additionally, we offer tailored mentoring opportunities for mid-career and established artists by invitation, fostering growth and collaboration.

Insights from these activities inform our future plans to better support performance artists.
