Touring this summer Taroo is a Parkour and circus show telling the everyday story of what happens in streets across the world.
Presented in association with Shubbak Festival and the Babylon Migrants Project. Taroo is a Parkour and circus comedy show telling stories from streets all over the world. With a fusion of acrobatics, Chinese pole and urban street moves, this show is not all that it seems. Performed and created by Moroccan circus artist Said Mouhssine – a free runner, stage director, actor and stuntman – expect Mouhssine’s distinctive brand of circus comedy and Parkour movement.
The London version of Taroo has been developed in partnership with the Babylon Project and will be performed in multiple public squares and neighborhoods in London and beyond.
The Portsmouth version is in collaboration with Funk Format. By working with local young people from the Solent area, who have added an exciting new live element that enhances the show’s experience (see video for an example of the workshops).
You can still be involved with the Portsmouth and Isle of Wight shows here.
This project marks the start of an ambitious three-year program led by Crying Out Loud, focusing on strengthening community connections and shared cultural understanding through creativity. They will support and present diverse forms of theatre, including visual and site-specific performances, in the Solent area, nationally and internationally.
