In the framework of the 2024 Circuliacija Festival we brought together a small group of artists and thinkers, to explore broad themes from each other’s individual practice in the context of today’s world; to exchange ideas and to interrogate how to navigate our creativity given the current constraints. And, keeping open the need to PLAY together!

The aim was to work together through sharing individual practice, to re-imagine a future for cross artform interdisciplinary collaboration in an international context. Our starting point was an understanding that artists have something urgent to say about the world today, to creatively address global issues by challenging the norm and offering live experiences (as an alternative to algorithm driven time).

In this Phase 1 in Vilnius, we began to develop a fresh flexible approach towards a framework of future residencies to be hosted by other international festivals. The long-term ambition is to support and seed new international collaborative creations, explore a mixture of forms and locations, whilst thinking about global issues on both the small and the large scale.
