A remarkable display of stage illusion.
Aurélia’s Oratorio performed by Aurélia Thierrée and directed by Victoria Thierrée Chaplin draws inspiration from the worlds of music hall, variety and circus to create a concoction of illusion and fantasy.
Aurélia Thierrée has performed as an actress and illusionist since early childhood, initially with her parents Jean-Baptiste Thierrée and Victoria Thierrée Chaplin (pioneers of new circus) in the famous Cirque Invisible and Cirque Imaginaire, and more recently with Tiger Lillies Circus of Shockheaded Peter fame.
Aurélia’s Oratorio toured the UK in 2005 taking in Warwick Arts Centre, Lyric Hammersmith, Oxford Playhouse, Brighton’s Gardner Arts Centre and Malvern Theatres. The 2006 tour went to Nottingham Playhouse, The Lowry, Abbey Theatre, Dublin and Lyric Hammersmith.
