The Carousel approach seeks to develop a fresh and flexible way to build frameworks for future residencies that can be hosted by international venues and festivals.

We have been developing this pioneering residency model in partnership with Third Version Creative since 2023. It aims to be a catalyst for cross-cultural artistic exchange – enabling artists to explore new ways of making work internationally. By facilitating collaboration between artists from diverse backgrounds, Carousel seeks to:

• foster a dynamic environment for creative exploration and experimentation – with no pressure to deliver.
• provide artists with the space and resources to develop new work, exchange ideas, and forge lasting connections.
• encourage artists to engage with their surroundings and explore the creation of work that resonates with local communities.

The long-term vision is to support and seed new international collaborative creations; explore a mixture of forms and locations; whilst thinking about global issues on both small and large scale.
