On Tuesday 21st August at 22:32, In The Studio – the BBC World Service programme that takes you into the minds and processes of leading creative figures – follows the making of Cascade, a site responsive juggling, music and water extravaganza commissioned by Crying Out Loud for the Edmond J. Safra Fountain Court at Somerset House.
Performed in the 55 water jets as part of Circus Sampler – two free weekends of contemporary circus, hip hop dance and music – the programme follows Sean Gandini, a company of professional and amateur jugglers from across the country and French acrobat-musicals Circa Tsuïca as they create this site responsive piece as part of Crying Out Loud’s Circus250 celebrations.
Formed in 1992 by world-renowned jugglers Sean Gandini and Kat Ylä-Hokkala, Gandini Juggling are trailblazers in their field. Fusing contemporary dance and circus, they have delighted audiences in over 50 countries across the world with their phenomenal skills and ingenious choreography.
