As part of Rawkus City 2026, Funk Format / Soul Rawkus CIC and Crying Out Loud are welcoming artists to Motus Lab in Victoria Park next week, a unique creative response session taking place inside Architects of Air’s Luminarium. This is part of Crying Out Loud’s project The Point Is Portsmouth, our city-wide programme celebrating Portsmouth100.

 On Saturday 12 September, six selected artists, groups and crews will come together to explore how space, sound, movement and their own creative practices can meet, spark ideas and generate new possibilities.

Led by dance artist and theatre-maker Luke Brown, alongside movement artist and choreographer Sasha Biloshisky, Motus Lab creates space for artists to experiment, collaborate and respond to an extraordinary environment.

It’s part of our wider ambition through The Point Is Portsmouth to bring ambitious work and new ideas into the city while creating opportunities for Portsmouth and Solent artists to connect, experiment and develop their practice.

Selected Motus Lab artists will also receive a complimentary place at Ideas Cypher later that day.

Note: Anyone taking part in either this Motus Lab or the Pitch Up! session on Sunday 06 September will also be able to access Luminarium and the Ideas Cypher Micro Conference free of charge during the 11–13 September weekend.
