A weekend of hands-on creativity at the Greenhouse in Victoria Park.

Inspired by the magical colours, patterns, light and shapes of the Luminarium, Sustainable Conservation Trust is bringing a weekend of hands-on creativity to the Greenhouse in Victoria Park.

Families and visitors of all ages can make their own stained-glass-inspired windows, experiment with colourful Play-Doh mortar between brick patterns, and on Saturday, get stuck into clay tile-making inspired by the details, textures and patterns found in our buildings and heritage.

Come along, experiment with colour, get your hands messy and discover how buildings and spaces can inspire our imaginations. No experience needed – just bring your creativity and curiosity!

The programme will provide participants and audiences with opportunities to:

● Respond creatively to their experience of the Luminarium

● Experiment with accessible creative materials and techniques

● Develop confidence in making and creative decision-making

● Explore pattern, structure, texture and colour

● Gain an introduction to traditional craft and clay working through Saturday’s tile-making activity

● Explore how architectural details can provide inspiration for creative work

● Consider the relationship between contemporary art, traditional craft and the built environment

● Discover connections between creativity, heritage and place.
