Circus Diaries goes to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe

Inspired by Unpack the Arts (a European project providing residencies for cultural journalists at twelve major arts festivals programming contemporary circus) Friday 5 August marks the first day of Circus Voices,  a week-long residency held at the 2016 Edinburgh Festival Fringe.

Supported by Crying Out Loud, London’s Roundhouse and the Network of Independent Critics, Circus Voices  is a concentrated focus on circus for five writers/journalists.

Organised by Kate Kavanagh (The Circus Diaries), the idea is to develop journalists and writers in the field of circus and visual theatre. The participants will live in the same flat, eat, drink, talk and write together to create new stories, blogs and articles.

These are some of the shows they’ll be seeing and discussing:

Water on Mars – Plastic Boom / Gandini Juggling
Attrape Moi – Flip Fabrique
Tipping Point – Ockham’s Razor
Throwback – Silver Lining & Jacksons Lane
Image – Selfie with Eggs – Natalie Reckert

We’ll be following #CircusVoices  at the fringe to watch their progress.
