Majid Dhana, also known as ‘JidosReality’, is a spoken word poet whose work reflects his personal experiences of displacement, loss, and resilience. Born in Harare, Majid spent over three years stateless and homeless in Portsmouth, an experience that profoundly shapes his poetry. A former Artist in Residence at Aspex Gallery, Majid has collaborated with Portsmouth City of Sanctuary, British Red Cross, Friends Without Borders, Portsmouth New Theatre Royal, University of Portsmouth, Portsmouth City Council, Hat Fair Festival, and Journeys Festival International. His projects explore migration, homelessness, and identity, including The Container Project (2017), Boîte-en-Valise: Generator with Harold Offeh, presented at the Venice Biennale and Look Up with Natalia Michalska (2018).

In 2022, Majid co-founded 432-Nomads with Rishky Patel, a collective celebrating cultural fusion and amplifying marginalised narratives through community-focused projects. Since 2023, Majid has led Portsmouth Refugee Week, fostering cultural exchange and deep engagement with themes of migration and resilience.

Majid’s educational outreach spans diverse groups, including individuals with learning disabilities, those dealing with addiction, and people facing mental health challenges. Through workshops, he uses poetry and art to empower marginalised communities. His poetry, with global reach, bridges personal experiences and universal themes, resonating with audiences worldwide.
