Paid professional development opportunity for Solent movement and digital artists.
Stretch is an immersive, participatory installation by artist Sophia Clist, originally commissioned by Crying Out Loud and presented in Fratton by Fratton Together as part of We Shine Community 2026. Bringing together a large-scale elastic environment with movement, sound, light and projection, Stretch is not a performance but a live response to the installation, with audiences invited to engage and interact with the work.
For its presentation at St Mary’s Church, Fratton, Portsmouth, Sophia will work with an experienced professional creative team including dancer Jane Mason, Nick Burge and Theo Jackson Clist. The work has been developed and presented professionally over a number of years and in a range of locations.
As part of Crying Out Loud’s support for Fratton Together’s presentation of Stretch, local/regional artists will have the opportunity to develop their own practice through facilitated development time with Sophia and members of the professional creative team, followed by experience within the live public presentation of Stretch.
17–21 November | St Mary’s Church, Fratton
