Off

Off  journeys from the surreal to the surprising to give an extraordinary night out at the theatre.

This new show from gifted French ensemble Company Kiaï (key-eye-ee) explores the mysteries of the mind and communicates a spectrum of emotions using the physical skills of a contortionist, a hip-hop dancer, a handstander, an acrobat, and a clown.  A feast for the eyes, Off  is accompanied by hypnotic electro music driven by original pulsing bass lines and rhythmic beats.

Darkly comic, mischievous and with a very big trampoline, this opportunity to catch the UK premiere from Company Kiaï is truly a one Off.

  • COMPANY BIOGRAPHY

After a 15-year career as an artist working with Philippa Decoufle, Collectif AOC and Mathurin Bolze, Cyrille Musy created Company Kiaï to express his visions of contemporary, multidisciplinary circus. His ambition is to blur the boundaries between dance and acrobatics in order to drive the body back to the very heart of the genre

Through their performances, Company Kiaï promote a personal vision of circus which is multidisciplinary and contemporary. At the edge of the dance, circus and theatre, they offer performance where different forms of expression meet, jostle, feed each other to create a unique and singular voice. With the ambition to create performance where the boundaries between dance and acrobatics disappear, giving the floor to the body and deepening the understanding of the human being in its diversity, its sensitivity and fragility.

Presented by house and Crying Out Loud. house is delivered by Farnham Maltings: a partner of the PASS Circus Channel project 2012 – 2014.  Crying Out Loud is the UK Creative Director of Farnham Maltings’ PASS activity.
