We’re delighted to announce that Circus Evolution has been successful again in its application to the Strategic Touring programme; this is its second Arts Council award to support touring of contemporary circus to partner venues across the UK.
The award gives Circus Evolution a fifteen month extension of strategic activity in the Midlands, North, South, East and South West providing bridging resources for it to build on and develop the current project. The partnership’s aspirations for Circus Evolution Two is for the partner venues to lead on programming British contemporary circus, which Crying Out Loud will augment by touring international contemporary circus.
Currently Circus Evolution comprises 9 venues. Crying Out Loud are seeking 2 more partner venues to join the project. The original venues are: Hat Factory, Luton; Civic, Barnsley; Seachange, Great Yarmouth; Lighthouse Poole; Lawrence Batley Theatre, Huddersfield; déda, Derby; Warwick Arts Centre; New Wolsey Theatre, Ipswich; and Oxford Playhouse.
Arts Council Strategic Touring programme is designed to encourage collaboration between organisations so that more people across England experience and are inspired by the arts, particularly in places which rely on touring for much of their arts provision.
