Crying Out Loud are creative producers bringing memorable experiences from extraordinary visual theatre makers to audiences of all ages and abilities. A key strand of our new programme is to support and present visual, site specific and cross artform projects in Portsmouth (where we are based) and the Solent area. We create development opportunities for local artists and communities, connecting them with the best companies and makers globally, and tour world-class international work to audiences in Portsmouth and across the South West England.

Crying Out Loud are working in association with Hat Fair in Winchester to offer two emerging/early career b-boy/girl, breakdancers, Hip Hop, BMX performers from the Solent area the opportunity to perform in the outdoor headline act at the festival in July. Working with professionals from Irish company Fidget Feet as part of a version of their House show, this is a fantastic development opportunity for emerging/early career artists to train and perform with an international company at a nationally recognised event.

  • “We’re thrilled to connect emerging artists from the Solent region with international aerial and circus experts Fidget Feet as part of Hat Fair 2024. This initiative is a key component of our Solent-based program, which supports physical and visual theatre creatives in developing their practice and connecting with professional touring artists.”
