Producing Hubs project funded by Arts Council England

Crying Out Loud is excited to be working in partnership with Déda in Derby taking part in the three year pilot Derby Creative Arts Network (Producing Hubs)  project funded by Arts Council England. Led by Derby Theatre with an exciting consortium of artists-led organisations and local partners. The aim is to genuinely reach out to different areas of the city and to strengthen ways of creating and participating in theatre.

Derby CAN consists of the following partners:

– Derby based National Portfolio Organisations: Derby Theatre, Déda, Baby People and Quad

– Strategic National Partners: China Plate, Crying Out Loud, In Good Company

– Independent theatre and production companies: Milk Presents, Not Too Tame, Maison Foo, Wild Rumpus

– Other local partners: University of Derby, Derby County Community Trust, Derby City Council

As a Producing Hub, partners will work together to programme work in community settings across the city; produce small scale productions that will tour into these hubs and beyond; produce new mid-scale work and new midscale outdoor work. It will also provide artists with opportunities to work on research and development together within the community.

The Producing Hub Project will further build on the city’s work with, and in, local communities through the This is Derby project.

Exciting!
